Ben is a digital media jack-of-all-trades. He is an award-winning photographer, designer and application developer who is passionate about helping people use technology to solve real-world problems. He has a knack for describing problems in approachable terms to improve communication and enhance synergy between implementers and business stakeholders. Ben is a former digital communications manager for BAE Systems, Inc. where he was part of a team of developers, designers, and content editors who redesigned baesystems.com. In addition to development and design, Ben was responsible for training and leading a distributed network of content editors who were responsible for data migration and daily maintenance. Ben was one of the pioneers and architects of BAE’s social media strategy resulting in an award winning presence on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Google+. The company’s digital presence, including external website and social media usage, was ranked 6th in the FTSE 100 by Sociagility and was the highest non-B2C ranked company.  Ben also helped lead and coordinate the standardization of BAE Systems' intranet presence into a common SharePoint environment to standardize the company’s intranet around the globe.

Prior to joining BAE Systems, Ben was the principal digital communications lead for General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products, where he oversaw a team of more than 40 web editors and was responsible for all digital media communication. At GD, Ben developed and launched an application giving employees access to the company’s intranet via Blackberry – a notable achievement in the pre-iPhone era where the term “App” had yet to be coined.
